KATELATE
My name is Kate and I play music.
I'm based in Edinburgh and play club gigs at various nights focussed on underground, bass, and queer dance music.
I am available for bookings- please drop me a message via bookings@katelate.co.uk or through Instagram to discuss rates and dates.
I also produce my own music, available to stream free via Soundcloud. I am working on material for some longer works, but am limited with resources and time as I am not currently signed to a label. If you'd like to release some of my music, please reach out via contact@katelate.co.uk, or through Instagram messages.
I make some visual art for fun, and have made some clips of my 3D shader art available on my website. I also have some notes available for geeks interested in similar fields- I'm hoping to write up more as I go to consolidate and share my knowledge. I don't mind people using these notes for anything, but similarly to my code, I am not making them available for commercial use (whether unmodified or derivative works), and would appreciate if you can contact me if you are interested in using my visual or written materials for any non-personal purposes (such as public performances, artworks, journalistic works, articles, research purposes, training data, etc).
As much as the new generation of tensor-network systems is both fascinating and groundbreaking, it is a matter of personal pride to me that I can say that none of my works use 'generative AI', such as LLMs, for the generation of any code, visuals, audio, ideas, information, or otherwise. My deepest use of them has been when I've been hit by unsolicited AI answers in my web searches, and checking out what Gemini hallucinates about me. On the latter, some prompts yield the generation of statements that appear to make false claims about my contributions to the Panda3D game engine, and my tech credentials in general. I hope it is superfluous to note that you should not believe anything that a language model generates in response to prompts phrased as questions about me or any other individual, particularly those with so little written about them available for the producers of these models to train them on.
I have made some small open source contributions to the Panda3D game engine's audio systems, and hope to add more in future.
